A Travel Guide for the Houston Rockets Journey from Baton Rouge to New Orleans
The Houston Rockets, an NBA team, did not want to pay for an expensive hotel in New Orleans last night. Instead they slept in nearbyish Baton Rouge because of “principle and logistics”, according to ESPN’s Calvin Watkins. After morning shootaround the Houston Rockets, an NBA team valued at 1.6 billion dollars, will get on a bus and head to New Orleans. I’m actually a really nice guy who has braved that road many, many times and I’d like to give some travel tips to the Houston Rockets, an NBA team that I am positive can most definitely afford even the most expensive hotel in New Orleans because they are worth 1.6 billion dollars.
This route only takes 1 hour and 48 minutes and uses I-10. On the way you have great seafood options in Gonzales like Don’s Seafood but there’s always “Cash’s Diner” which is very out of the way and has 2 and a half stars on Yelp. Your choice, Houston!
Also on this route there’s beautiful scenery to fix your eyes on once you hit the Maurepas Swamp. Alternatively you could read “ANTIGUA: The Land of Fairies, Wizards and Heroes” by Denise Ellis which, according to this post, is the worst rated book on Amazon.com. Do whichever is more exciting, Houston.
If you’re traveling by Megabus it might take longer because Megabus stops occasionally and the drivers drive like they don’t have anywhere to be. I’m realizing now that there is a pretty good chance the Houston Rockets are just piling into a Megabus to save some cash. Typically a Megabus will stop at a gas station for people to use the restroom and grab some road snacks. The road food I recommend for an athlete is going to be some almonds or peanuts — a large bag will run you around $6.99. I understand if the Rockets budget calls for something easier on the pocketbook so maybe go for a candy bar. Or you know what, skip the road food altogether. Would be rude to inconvenience the franchise.
